I have put this in the Roadster section so that it will be easily visible.

Apologies, this website is about to be replaced, and is not functioning properly

For unknown reasons many areas, ie Gallery are not working.

We are having some problems with the new one, which should go live very soon, please look at :

The Forum has essentially been replaced by the Facebook Marlin Enthusiasts site so perhaps you

Whenever I try to go the facebook group (logged in) I get this message, I can't see it or join it:

"This content isn't available at the moment When this happens, it's usually because the owner only shared it with a small group of people or changed who can see it, or it's been deleted."

If I log out then I see there is a page there.

Very strange as I have just used your link and it works fine for me. Whilst you are logged in, then before you go to the Marlin page you could try the Fn with the F5 key to reload your webpage and to reset memory, see if that helps. If you still get the error try the Fn/F5 whilst in Marlin page.

That's odd, it's a private group, so you do need to be a member to see content, though others should be able to find the group.
I'm a member and can access it OK from your link, when logged in to Facebook.

On the other hand if I use my spare Facebook account, which isn't a member of that group, I can find it, but not view the content.
There is however a join button available from that account.

I wonder if you've inadvertently tried to join and been auto-rejected for some reason, so are effectively banned accidentally.
If you still have normal Facebook access, perhaps you could message the group admin to let you in. That's Trevor Ford (who has a photo of a Lancaster as his avatar)

Thanks Bill, I've sent the request today.

It is rather odd, I've tried in different browsers, also the iOS app (and cleared cache). Always get that message. Asked my brother who also gets the same message when he tries to view the group logged in.

(when I search the 'Merlin' group comes up, which is obviously not the right one )

I hope that others are not experiencing problems accessing the Facebook group. I haven't had any trouble even though I never previously used Facebook. Moving the membership details to Crossmember has not been as simple as we expected which is why this website is still operating. When that is up and running we will be closing this old site to avoid the confusion over which one to use.

Thanks Bill for trying, got your message. I've checked over all my facebook privacy/security/block settings and there's nothing there that should stop me joining. According to their automated support, my account is 'in good standing', and there's nothing set that would block me from joining.

From what I've read the only other things it could be are: I'm not meeting a membership requirement (not sure what that might be, if anything, or I've been put on a block list, or the group is set to hidden or private - I don't think so as it is publicly listed when logged out.

Although my account is quite old, I have not actively used it for many years, so maybe there is some kind of rule in the group for a minimum level of activity on the platform?

You have another Facebook message from me; I don't think it's anything directly to do with your account.
It's possible that you've been inadvertently banned from the group, either by an admin, or by some weird Facebook algorithm, and even group admin aren't aware.
I've messaged group admin, but received no response.
It's potentially going to be difficult in the future, if the proposal is to use that FB group for Marlin Owners Club discussions, if it only has one active admin.
There is another admin, but they don't appear to be active, so I'll try that account; I suspect it may be a spare admin account, but not sure.

We will now be closing this website on Friday to avoid the cost of another year's hosting. Anyone wanting to join before Crossmember is fully operational will able to do so by contacting our Membership Secretary via the new website, marlinownersclub.co.uk. There has been a delay but Crossmember is due to be operational very soon.

Perhaps it would make sense to start a new facebook group for MOC members (which the club controls) which can capture those of us that can't join the other one and are club members.
