Cylinder Head Bolts Urgently required for an O type engine

All possible suppliers investigated without success, can anyone help ?

Alternatively, it is not recommended to reuse as they may have stretched.

Does anyone have any thoughts/ ideas on this if all else fails

    Cheers DC

I have re-used cylinder head bolts on a B series before. What does the manual say? Maybe try the Fast Marina club? Have you tried the author of 'Tuning the BMC B series'? Sorry, I can't be more help.

Thanks for the response Dave, and yes we are talking with Chris Weedon, who is also looking for some.

The O type with it's ally head has stretch bolts which cannot be reused, we are trying to find a suitable source.

Currently in the hens teeth scenario, but optimistic !

It's not an engine I've played with, but what version do you have, and what vehicles was it fitted to?

e.g. maybe hens teeth for a Marina, or Montego, but would a search for DAF/LDV produce some?
e.g. From the above 2l engine fitted toFrom Elring catalogue P240 doesn't show a part number for the 20HD engine, but who else makes them?

but could these supply, or make to order?

Many thanks Bill. The engine is a 1.7 from an Ital and is I believe a little different from the later 2L version.

We shall certainly be looking at these sites

          Thanks DC

You could have a word with Rotherham Engine Supplies, a firm I've used for various jobs over the years.
I'm not sure if Pete, the original owner, is still there, but he certainly has a very wide general knowledge.
They may know an equivalent part, or have an alternative solution.
E.S Ltd has been trading for well in excess of 20 years. Originally based in Rotherham and trading as rotherham engine supplies Ltd.

You could try the "Freight Rover and LDV spares" group on Facebook. The Sherpa used the O1 engine (same as Marina/Ital) in 1.7 & 2.0 forms.

To close this saga, the bolts have been examined by a specialist "Fastener" guy and they are not "stretchy"

The engine will be rebuilt and hopefully the car will make it to Malvern

It appears that some (later?) 1.7s and certainly some of the 2.0 version DID use "stretchy" bolts
