    Ghost Town here ?

So where is everybody ? Hibernating ?

What Marlin events do you have planned for 2026 ?

Shall we see a massive turn out of Marlins at Malvern ?

I was talking with an NG guy today and suggested that perhaps a joint get together might be an idea.
...no plans on where or when, what do you think of the idea ?

I have tried to upload a pic but the site says the file is corrupted...not seen that problem before...seems all my pics are corrupted !

I suspect the recent website issues are partly to blame DC. But, also, more activity takes place on the FB group. It's easier to get a quick response to a question since most members probably only log in here once or twice a day, perhaps even less.

That's a shame for a couple of reasons, in my view: the question they have has usually been answered on here already and can easily be found by a quick search, and FB, for me, is more of a "here and gone" medium; I find it difficult to find a post I know I've seen but is now lost in a ream of other posts.

It has been quiet on here; I've not posted recently, other than to comment on website issues, mainly because the weather's been lousy and the Marlin hasn't left the garage.

Just testing photo uploads again now; Yes I get the same, whilst trying to upload a known good jpg or png.
Another forum I use, also hosted on vBulletin software, has been having a similar issue for some time, though it's an earlier version so possibly unrelated.
On that one, it's the exif embedded in the photo which causes a problem, specifically the xmp metadata, but that's not the case on here as I've tried png (and jpg with the exif stripped).

I don't think the issue is with your photos Dave, rather, the site has a database issue where the photos fail an internal verification test.
There's lots on the net about it, but the problem seems to vary with the vBulletin version.
I don't think it can be resolved by anyone other than site admin or hosts.

      try This Google Search

The AI bit at the top is reasonably informative, but may be skewed by the work folks have been doing trying to resolve the problem on the photo forum

Thanks for the comments Bill & Jon.

Jon, regarding the Search facility, I agree, but if you trawl through it as I have recently done (well, through some of it anyway) there is an awful lot of irrelevance.
I was looking to see if/how we could save and condense the good bits for the future, but they are very small in the overall size so don't think that will happen, it
would be a totally ineffective use of (my) time.

Bill, yes I agree that there's nothing wrong with my files, it's something within the site, regrettably beyond the Club's control and budget to get it sorted.
The Committee are looking for a valid answer to these problems but as ever it's neither a simple nor quick answer.

Patience, as ever, is a core requirement

Totally agree with Jon regards using the 'search' facility and the difficulty in finding previous posts on Facebook. Regrettably I fear that this forums source of information days are numbered as the finances , expertise and willingness to contribute are simply not there.
